This additional experience enriched and enhance their approach to veterinary medecine.
Although they are only in their thirties, Accès Vet co-owners Dr Jasmin and Dr Labelle have already known each other for nearly twenty years. They first became friends in high school in 1989, and were reunited in St. Hyacinthe when they both went into veterinary medicine in 1994.
The two graduated in 1998 and, with complementary personalities and a flair for entrepreneurship, they wasted no time setting up a home veterinary care service focused on strong connections with their clients.
Nothing the emerging demand for specialized services. That’s exactly what happened: their first veterinary clinic occupied a tiny space measuring just 380 square feet on Henri-Bourassa Street. Their approach’s success took them by surprise. Their practice quickly outgrew its tiny space.
All this while, from 1998 to 2001, Dr. Jasmin and Dr. Labelle were honing their knowledge and skills in veterinary medicine under colleagues in the Ste-Thérèse and Montréal regions, among others.
In 2001, the practice moved into a bigger clinic less than 300 feet from the original site, more than quadrupling their space to 1700 square feet. In response to clients’ demands for increasingly sophisticated technology, modern services have been added to existing medical tools. The use of surgical lasers proved to be the innovation clients valued most, as they become increasingly attuned to their pet’s welfare and concerned about controlling perioperative pain.
Creative and sensitive to the growing needs of a clientele that demands access to the best veterinary care available, our valiant vets acquired a second Accès Vet location in 2007, Hôpital vétérinaire Ville Saint-Laurent. The larger space (4000 square feet) was able to provide services to complement those offered at the first location, and drew on a loyal customer base over 20 years in the making. The doctors further enhanced the practice by adding a digital x-ray system and ultrasound device. The operating suite was also fully overhauled and updated.
Fusion between two hospitals, thereby forming Access Vet.
